My husband needs a defibrillator implant. Are there any Charities that can help?
His doctor gives him a little over a year at best if he does not get this implant done right a way. His heart function is at only 23% (normal is around 55%) and is continuing to drop every few months. He is on the highest dose of medication to improve function and it is not helping. His insurance will pay for everything but the cost of the defibrillator. Does any one know of a Charity that would either pay for the machine or donate one? Any information would help.
My husband has filed for SS we are waiting on it. He has Medicaid right now, they will cover meds, surgery, doctors, and hospital stay, but not the defibrillator itself.

why do doctors say clear when using a defibrillator?
you know when the doctors say cleer when ever the person is nearly dying
Why do doctors say 'clear' when they're using a defibrillator?
I’m pretty sure it’s because if you’re in contact with the patient, you’ll get electrocuted, but someone recently told me it was because the patient ‘jumps’ and might hit the doctors. I thought it was pretty bizarre.
start a car with a defibrillator?
i want to know if it is possible to start a car with a hospital defibrillator. not the ones that go inside your chest. the ones the doctors use to bring you back to life.

What does it feel like when an internal defibrillator goes off?
I do NOT want opinions from doctors/nurses/EMT – I want to hear from someone who has one.

My Girlfriend went into cardiac arrest when she was 14, and was saved by an AED. Now she has been fine for about 5 years now, however im still worried that it could happen again. Her doctors say theres nothing to worry about, but im still worried that it will happen again. Any insight?

Defibrillator?
My father recently changed his pacemaker and had a difibrillator installed, but now after three months he keeps getting these shocks almost everyday and thier becoming more and more intense to the point where he goes almost unconscious. Is there anything he can do to avoid this? Does it have to do with the pharmaceuticals he’s taking? The doctors he’s seeing now are saying that he might need an implant. Can anyone help?
